Sonic Comic Cover Events
SCCE 2020
Hosted by SynRushuo, IDW Sonic News held their first Sonic Comic Cover Event in 2020. The goal of the event was to select several artists from the Sonic the Hedgehog fan-community and assign each person with the task of redrawing 1 character as seen on Johnathan Gray’s cover of issue #16. After each of the 31 artists were done, it was my task to create the background art and stitch together each illustration onto the new cover in a way that allowed each artist to shine as well as staying true to Johnathan’s original artwork.
SCCE 2022
IDW Sonic New’s second Sonic Comic Cover Event took place in 2022. This year’s cover used the same idea of 2020’s, multiple artists drawing each character, but based the work off of Nathalie Fourdraine’s cover for issue #9. Along with receiving art for each of the characters, I also received artwork for the background. Like with 2020’s, my job was to put together all 23 artists’ work in a way that it looked good and stayed true to Nathalie’s original art.

As previews, covers, and summaries are released from IDW about each month’s Sonic issue, IDW Sonic News collects that information in a solicitation graphic. This graphic was used from 2020 to mid 2022 and posted across the news network’s various social media profiles.
Official Solicitation - 2022
Mid 2022, I was once again asked to create a solicitation graphic for IDW Sonic News. This time it was requested I make a 1:1 version to better fit posting on Instagram.
